What we’re looking for

As a Business Development Representative (BDR) at UPPER your mission is to create interest through direct communication using various online and offline channels – therefore helping to fill up the sales pipeline. As the first touchpoint to our future customers, you also play a critical role in setting the tone for a successful collaboration. With the right mindset, you have the chance to make a true impact and to grow your career at UPPER.

This role requires you to be determined, proactive, resilient and great in communicating.

 

Responsibilities

Your main responsibility is to contact companies for whom our offering is relevant to schedule a first meeting to discuss our solution. This includes the following responsibilities:

  • You review and prioritize existing leads and look for new ones.
  • You build an understanding of the specific needs of all company sizes – from recently funded startups to complex enterprise companies.
  • You ask the right questions to qualify prospects and understand how we can offer the most value.
  • You prospect, educate, qualify and develop target accounts by leveraging a smart business development approach. This approach consists of a combination of targeted emails, cold calls, social media touches, industry fairs and other online and offline channels.
  • You pitch our solution to prospects with the goal of scheduling a call between the potential client and someone in our sales or management team.
  • You understand that sales is a numbers game and you have a high drive to deliver a high quantity of outreachs – resulting in well-qualified meetings.
  • You build and continuously improve your own workflows.
  • You document your activities in our CRM System
  • You collaborate with our Business Development support functions.

 

What you should bring to the table…

  • You have work experience in B2B business development or sales.
    –> If you are a fast learner and very determined this is optional
  • You can work autonomously and like to pro-actively improve your workflows.
  • You are target driven and have a winning attitude that isn’t intimidated by a series of “No’s”.
  • You don’t want to meet goals, you want to exceed them.
  • You can generate a high output of activities while maintaining a professional, targeted sales approach.
  • You are an excellent communicator.
  • You have a strong ability to problem solve and find new ways to create value.
  • You are interested in the tech industry.
  • You have full professional proficiency in English.
