We are looking for an experienced and ambitious Head of People & Culture to lead our team growth across Europe.

At UPPER, our mission is to enable companies and top product & tech professionals to successfully work together in a future-proof, trusted setup. As Head of People & Culture, you help us achieve this mission by ensuring a sustainable growth with outstanding people.

As Head of People & Culture, amongst other things, you will: 

  • Attract the best talent. To build an outstanding product we need an outstanding team. Identify UPPER’s needs and “own” the full hiring cycle: Be responsible for employer branding, sourcing talent, screening CVs, running interviews, and hiring the best candidates for UPPER.
  • Think ahead. Anticipate the organisation’s future and work with management to create continous high levels of engagement and fun amongst the employees.
  • Grow the team: As the company grows, you will set up a strategy incl. processes for the People & Culture department and hire your own team of HR and Recruiting specialists to support you. You will introduce metrics to track the success of your area of responsibility.
  • Build and maintain a great culture. We love to work for UPPER and want to keep the strong connection through our values. You will design a (remote) culture for vibrant employee experience.
  • Be the “go-to” People and Culture contact. You are a trusted and empathic advisor for all employees and the management team. You are able to deliver reports and data when/as required. You plan, initiate and support the onboarding process. You handle admin work incl. contracts, payroll as well as salary accounting.

About you:

  • You’ve “been there, done that”. You have proven experience as a Head of People & Culture or similar senior-level HR position. Yet, you are flexible and open to innovation and changes to the Status Quo.
  • You understand how it works. You have hands-on experience with parts or the full hiring process (e.g. employer branding, sourcing, CVs screening, interviewing)
  • You’re an innovator. Ability to be strategic and tactical when making decisions.
  • You’re a strong believer in data. Analytical and capable of reading data and reports to assess complex information.
  • You’re an excellent communicator. We’re a 100% remote team, and remote without great communication simply doesn’t work.
  • You are an excellent coach. You are positive, goal-oriented, and love helping people grow.
  • You’re great at time management. You’ll juggle a variety of fast-moving communication projects, and as a part of a distributed team, you’ll be expected to help your team do the same.
  • You love doing things efficiently. As a part of a growing company, you have an opportunity to make a big impact, and you’re keen to build processes that’ll make your job more efficient over time.
